  2022 RMAC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR: CJ Sims, New Mexico Highlands,...Sims secures RMAC Special Teams Player of the Year after closing the season with 340 yards on kickoff returns, a mark that ranks 27th in the nation, for an average of 26.2 yards per return. His longest return of the year came in the form of a 99-yard kickoff against a feisty Black Hills State program (Oct. 8), when he traversed the length of the field with 24 seconds remaining in the opening half. Sims has compiled 478 return yards on the season for an average of 17.1 yards and pairs that with his powerful presence on the offensive side of the ball as a wide receiver. - RMAC Football

  2021 RMAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): CJ Sims, New Mexico Highlands,...Sims earns RMAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the RMAC with 10 receiving touchdowns on the season, a mark that also stands 10th nationally. As a wide receiver, Sims also ranks eighth in the nation with 155.4 all-purpose yards per game. He is responsible for 78 points for New Mexico Highlands this season and is a catalyst for the Cowboys' kick return team. Sims leads the league and ranks 15th in the country with 1,007 receiving yards on the season, averaging 100.7 receiving yards in his 10 appearances this season.   NOV 11 RMAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Malik Brown of New Mexico Highlands has been named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week. He led the Cowboys to a 24-22 win over WCU. Brown recorded 2 interception, both of which he ran back for touchdowns. The second interception came in the 4th quarter and gave the Cowboys a two-possession lead. Brown also recorded 7 tackles, a pass break-up, and forced a fumble. - RMAC Football
